WILLIE MULLINS is set to unleash some exciting prospects and established stars at the Cheltenham Festival.

Where does Willie Mullins train?

Mullins is based at Closutton, Muine Bheag, County Carlow, Ireland.

His son Patrick, an excellent amateur jockey in his own right, is his assistant trainer. Ruby Walsh has been the number one stable jockey in recent seasons.

How old is Willie Mullins?

Mullins is 62.

Prior to becoming a legendary trainer, Mullins was a six-time amateur champion jockey in Ireland. His greatest moments in the saddle were wins in the 1983 Aintree Foxhunters’ and in the 1996 Cheltenham Champion Bumper.

He commenced his career as a racehorse trainer in 1988 after spells as assistant trainer to both his father Paddy and Jim Bolger.

What horses has Willie Mullins trained?

As Mullins has won just about every major prize in Ireland, in addition to most of the big ones in the UK, the list of well-known, highly successful horses that Mullins has trained is in the dozens.

2005 Grand National winner Hedgehunter, tenacious hurdler Hurricane Fly, Faugheen ‘The Machine’, Vautour, Quevega, Annie Power and Douvan are among Mullins’ most memorable horses.
