We’ve been grating cheese wrong our whole lives… and the right way is so much less messy

WE’D argue that a sprinkle of cheese makes every meal taste better, but did you know you’ve probably been grating your cheddar wrong this whole time?

Earlier this week, one cheese lover – known on Twitter as “Bea” – took to social media to reveal a grating hack – and now we’ve seen it, it makes total sense.

“Ok, I was today years old when I found out THIS is how a cheese grater is used !?” Wrote Bea.

“I feel a fool.”

Bea shared a recipe video from Instagram account, @menuserved (originally by Tastemade UK) showing one chef grating cheese in a very different way.

Instead of the grater being held vertically, the kitchen accessory was placed on its side, which means cheese is collected inside the grater – instead of on a plate or a bowl.

Not only does this method avoid stray bits of cheese going everywhere, but you can also see exactly how much cheese you’ve already grated – which means less waste.

It’s also makes the grating a lot easier and removes the need to balance on a bowl.

And we’re not the only ones in awe of this ingenious hack.

Since the video was posted a few days ago, other Twitter users have been going wild for the new method.

One wrote: “My life is changed forever” while another said: “It all makes sense now”.

Earlier this week, we told you  Nestlé has finally revealed why there are fewer green triangles in each tub of Quality Street… AND why there are more strawberry delights.

We also revealed people have just realised white chocolate Terry’s Chocolate Oranges exist – and they are so excited.

And we showed you Doritos ‘loaded’ nachos exist… and they could be a game-changer.
