Valorant Act 2 release date and update launch time news for Battle Pass

Valorant remains a work in progress for developers Riot Games, with plenty of exciting new content planned for Act 2.

The big update has been confirmed for this week, meaning gamers can expect a meaty download coming their way very soon.

The good news is that a new Battle Pass is being launched, as well as a new character and other changes for the existing roster.

The only downside is Valorant players only have a short time left to complete their current Battle Pass before everything disappears.

Riot Games has confirmed that the Valorant Act 2 release date has been set for Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

No set launch time has been announced for all the content, and there might be a good reason why.

While the new Valorant Act 2 Battle Pass is scheduled to go live on August 4, more stuff is being launched on August 5.

This means that players will have to wait around 24-hours to have all the new promised content from Riot Games at their fingertips.

So while the new Valorant Act 2 update might go live on August 4 in the morning in the UK, there will still be a little wait for everything to become available.

Riot Games has confirmed that they have plenty of new content and cosmetics planned for the release of Valorant Act 2.

From what has been shared so far, new skins, Battle Pass and a new mode are all part of the package.

That’s without mentioning the release of Killjoy, the game’s next playable Valorant character.

The VALORANT Act 2 Battlepass contains a series of exclusive unlockables; including gun skins, gun buddies, sprays, player cards, player titles, and Radianite points.

Meanwhile, new Glitchpop skins are also being made available from 2,175 VP and can be used for the Frenzy, Judge, Bulldog and Odin.

These new skins are a separate launch and feature a dystopian style for players to check out.

The new FFA Deathmatch game mode is launching on August 5 and allows ten players to enter the game with no abilities and infinite money.

Players respawning after death have the objective to be the first to 30 kills or most kills at 6 minutes.

As a rough rundown, Free-For-All deathmatch will include ten players. No abilities. Infinite money.

It should also be noted that FFA deathmatch is going to launch in a BETA test window on August 5, meaning it is subject to change.

Riot Games will be monitoring server performance and game stability, with the hope that they can leave everything in place if everything remains steady.

Meanwhile, Killjoy will become available as part of the same Valorant update going live on August 4, for the Act 2 launch.

Killjoy’s abilities

  • Alarmbot: Equips a covert Alarmbot that hunts down enemies that get in range and explodes, applying Vulnerable.
  • Turret: Deploy a turret that fires at enemies in a 180-degree cone.
  • Signature Ability Nanoswarm: Equip a Nanoswarm grenade which activates a Nanoswarm and deploys a damaging swarm of nanobots.
  • Ultimate Ability Lockdown: The Lockdown device detains all enemies caught in its radius but can be destroyed by enemies.
