Twitter reacts as Emirates only half-full for Arsenal’s must-win Europa League game

ARSENAL went into their must-win game against BATE Borisov in front of a sea of empty seats.

Many fans were quick to have a laugh at the Gunners’ expense once more, using the same-old “Emptyrates” jokes.

However, others blamed the early kick-off for the low attendance, with Londoners struggling to get to the ground for 5.55pm after work.

Arsenal went into the second-leg of their last-32 game trailing 1-0 after the first leg in Belarus.

One fan mused, “Why is the Emirates stadium half empty right now?”

However, another added: “This 17:55 kickoff is so unfair on Arsenal fans. Most of us finish work at 1730. No chance of getting to the Emirates for 17:55.”

A third agreed, saying: “1755 kick off at The Emirates, crazy, thankfully rush hour in London isn’t busy or anything.”

However, some fans blamed the ridiculous 5.55pm kick-off for the low attendance.
