Huddersfield and Fulham enjoyed a productive summer in the transfer market – but are still both staring relegation to the Championship square in the face.
Major criteria examined, by position
Goalkeeper – Minutes played, clean sheets, saves, catches, punches, passes.
Defenders – Minutes played, clean sheets, passes, tackles, blocks.
Midfielders – Minutes played, goals, assists, passes, tackles, crosses, chances created.
Forwards – Minutes played, goals, assists, shots on target, key chances created.
Wolves also secured some incredible bargains, with Joao Moutinho one of the best value stars in the Premier League.
The Sportsman conducted research into all transfers made this season and worked out how much player’s really cost based on things such as minutes played, goals, assists and tackles, based on position.
And according to the numbers, Terriers’ goalkeeper Jonas Lossl is the best-value player in the league, costing just £646 per contribution this term.
Ex-Manchester United defender Jonny Evans is in the back-four after his move from West Brom to Leicester.
The Northern Irishman is joined by Fabian Schar, Florent Hadergjonaj and Maxime Le Marchand in the back four – all costing under £1,700 per impactful incident.
Moutinho is joined in a talented – and cheap – midfield by Juninho Bacuna, David Brooks and Ken Sema.
The Watford man is the best value outfield player in the Premier League this term at just £1,100 per contribution.
Up front, Fulham ace Mitrovic is joined by Cardiff’s Bobby Reid – both hovering around the £6,000 per contribution mark.
