THE racing on Thursday is pretty uninspiring to tell the truth.
But in the feature race at Kempton Park, one of Simon Dow’s has caught my eye.
EL BORRACHO (7.30 Kempton) ran a solid race to finish sixth in the Old Rowley Cup at Newmarket when last sighted in October.
He completed a hat-trick of second-place finishes at Kempton prior to that run, so the return to this venue (in a much lower grade) looks sure to suit.
He remains competitively weighted of 78, and there ought to be a strong gallop for this hold-up performer to aim at.
The progressive Ilhabela Fact is the one they all have to beat, but El Borracho is as reliable as they come and should run a big race.
