A brand new green sign has been introduced to show the public which attractions are safe to enter and are following Covid-19 guidelines.
The “We’re Good To Go” industry standard mark designed by VisitEngland in partnership with the national tourist organisations Tourism Northern Ireland, VisitScotland and Visit Wales.
It’s designed to provide a ‘ring of confidence’ that businesses have clear processes in place and are following industry and Government guidance on cleanliness and social distancing.
Inspectors will carry out surprise random checks on sites to ensure guidelines are being followed.
Tourism and event businesses who have read and implemented the Government’s COVID-19 reopening guidance, understand the guidance from Public Health England and have a COVID-19 Risk Assessment in place can apply.
If successful, the new green sign can then be used across a firm’s marketing channels and signage, plus a downloadable certificate will be available to display on the premises.
The process aligns to latest UK Government guidelines and there is a requirement that all business signing up have read the relevant public health guidelines and understand the need to aid social distancing and cleanliness.
It’s a compulsory requirement for any attraction which signs up that officials have a key contact at the business in case of any future updates.
If government guidance does change, then business owners will receive a notification of those changes and be required to confirm that they have understood them and made any relevant changes.
Many attractions in England are beginning to welcome back visitors, with all sorts of ‘new-normal’ arrangements, from pre-booked time slots to one-way routes.
