Ackie has an unknown role in the new blockbuster, which will hit cinemas in December. And as fan anticipation builds for the reveal of its official title, Ackie has told reporters something somewhat surprising: not even she knows what it is. Speaking to HeyUGuys, she said that the well-known security levels on set even include keeping the name of the film from its stars.
“They keep everything on such a lockdown,” she said.
“They don’t tell us anything until it’s time for us to know. Disney are the ultimate Jedis.”
Many stars who are involved in the movie have finished filming, and it’s believed that principle photography is beginning to wind down.
But Ackie, it seems, is not done quite yet.
Speaking about how overwhelming her casting is, she said: “Right now it’s fine, because I’m filming.
“But once I have to go into the public, I think it’ll be a little more terrifying.”
She obviously kept her cards close to her chest in terms of who exactly her character is – but the star did let slip who she’s been working with specifically.
She told ODE: “I think my absolute faves [to work with] were the Star Wars ‘new originals’.
“I loved being with John [Boyega, Finn] and Daisy [Ridley, Rey] and Oscar [Isaac, Poe] – it was brilliant to share the screen with them, such brilliant energy.”
Speculation that the title could be imminently dropping has been raging for weeks now, and suspicions were raised again last week when Anthony Daniels posted a cryptic tweet and The Star Wars Show returned.
Alas, the wait continues. Star Wars Celebration in April is expected to be when a teaser trailer is finally unleashed.
Star Wars 9 is out in December.
