Despite a rather abrupt exit, it was clear Snoke has been pulling strings for many years. The Aftermath trilogy of books suggested he had been watching Kylo Ren while he was still Ben Solo – and not just as a boy but even in Leia’s womb. Even that is not as shocking as the new clues that he might also have some unbelievable connection to one of the greatest heroes in the entire Skywalker saga. A new Rise of Skywalker comic book series has been announced and the former Supreme Leader has his own limited series which might just reveal something truly shocking.
Marvel’s Age of Resistance miniseries will feature major characters from the Resistance and First Order.
The comic books will explore and expand the backstories on some of the most popular and divisive figures including Rose Tico, Supreme Leader Snoke, Rey and Kylo Ren.
Snoke’s story kicks off with the first issue on September 11 and the brief official synopsis reads: “Supreme Leader Snoke’s brutal training of Kylo Ren begins. Will the sadistic Snoke break his tormented protégé? Or has he underestimated the son of Han and Leia?”
But that is not what is causing a major fan disturbance in the Force. Look again more closely at the cover art for Issue 1…
Theories are already sprouting like weeds, or should that be swamp weeds?
The tree behind Snoke is clearly from a world which looks startlingly (or horrifyingly) like one we have seen before.
It featured major scenes with Luke Skywalker but was actually the home of none other than Master Yoda.
Does Snoke have links to Dagobah? Does he have links to Yoda? Or even Luke?
JJ Abrams final instalment in the Skywalker saga has long promised to pay homage to all that has come before. A return to Dagobah would certainly do that.
Alternately, there have been persistent leaks reporting new scenes involving Kylo Ren being shot in a swamp setting featuring a new CGI or animatronic character called the Oracle. Does Snoke have something to do with the Oracle? Will Kylo track it down in Episode 9 following clues left by Snoke?
