Shaun Wallace: The Chase star makes heartfelt announcement 'Your support means so much'

Shaun Wallace, 60, wrote to his Twitter fans after it was announced that he would be rowing the length of the country for an ITV series featuring other celebrities. On his JustGiving page, the chaser explained he is taking part to raise money for small charities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

So far the star has raised £480 of his £1,000 target and has received donations from many fans.

On Twitter Shaun retweeted a post from Great James Street Law Chambers as they cheered him on, writing alongside it: “Your support means so much.”

Underneath, fans also wished him luck as they declared they were rooting for the chaser.

One wrote: “Best of luck, Shaun and co! We’re all rooting for ya.”(sic)

“I am both determined and committed to help raise funds and awareness to these organisations and charities so please, help me to help them and give generously.

“Every penny helps so every donation, no matter how big or small, is greatly needed and appreciated along with your support and motivation to get me through this incredible challenge,” he added.

Among the other stars reported to be taking part in the challenge are I’m A Celebrity’s Fleur East and The Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt, while Top Gear’s Andrew Flintoff has been confirmed to be a co-host.

A spokesperson for ITV said: “Hosted by AJ Odudu and Freddie Flintoff, the show promises action and adventure as two teams compete against each other in the race of a lifetime.”

Filming began yesterday morning at Mullion Cove. Locals were excited to see many famous people and TV crews filming at the harbour.

Shaun’s involvement in the programme comes after he has reportedly taken legal action against the internet encyclopaedia, Wikipedia, over the allegation he has a wife.

The Chase star is said to be livid that the website has continued to publish information he is married to a woman named Matilda Bray.

Wikipedia can be updated by anyone which often means inaccurate information to be shared on the site.
