SHARON Osbourne has reignited her feud with Simon Cowell as she has claimed he snubbed her from returning to The X Factor because she is “too old”.
The 66-year-old star has insisted she turned down the opportunity to star on Fox’s The Masked Singer in favour of returning to the ITV talent show, but was snubbed from the gig by the 59-year-old music mogul because of her age.
Speaking on The Talk on Thursday night about the snub, she said: “I turned down to be a judge on the Masked Singer.
“I was signed on to do another show at the time.
“I was signed to go to England, and then Simon Cowell changed his mind and thought I was too old. I was under contract and couldn’t do it.”
The Masked Singer is hosted by Nick Cannon, who is joined by Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba, Eve and Sara Gilbert as critics on the programme.
But the comment left a bad taste in Sharon’s mouth as she backfired and felt Simon shouldn’t be helming the programme for the same reason.
She quipped: “Simon goes ‘She’s old. We need somebody young.’ So if you want young, fire yourself!”
The Sun Online has reached out to both Simon and Sharon’s representatives for comment.
Sharon has been a part of The X Factor judging panel for almost 10 years.
She first signed up to the show in 2004, and mentored various categories over the next three years.
Sharon had six years away from the programme, but returned in 2013, then again in 2016 and 2017.
However, Ozzy Osbourne’s wife did not take her seat on the judging panel last year.

For the 2018 series she was replaced by Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Field and husband Robbie Williams.
Meanwhile, Sharon has got some other exciting projects in the pipeline as she is working on a big budget film of her life.
Earlier this year the star claimed the movie will document her life from the age of 25, and will be slated for release in 2020.
