AFTER a few quiet days lapping up the Grand National and the best of Aintree, our double act are back with their Saturday NAPs.
The ITV action comes from Newbury and Doncaster and our tipsters are ready with their fancies.
Templegate is playing catch-up after Chappers landed a couple of winners at Aintree, but there’s plenty of racing to come during the remainder of April.
The Scottish National is the feature but Matt sticks to the flat for his NAP and….
Roll on Saturday….
Standings (£1 Stakes)
January: Chappers 1 – 0 Templegate
February: Chappers 1 – 1 Templegate
March: Chappers 1 – 2 Templegate
April: Chappers +£2 & Templegate -£3
It’s time to be Impulsive in the Coral Scottish National.
IMPULSIVE STAR (NAP) looks just the right type for this marathon Ayr contest.
He was a decent novice last season when he finished fourth behind Rathvinden in the 4m National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham.
As he failed to win last term he was able to have another crack at that Festival contest. He went into the race having landed Warwick’s Classic Chase with a strong surge down the straight when Crosspark and Carole’s Destrier were left trailing.
Official figures meant he still had plenty to find in the NH Chase but he didn’t run at all badly in a brutal race.
He was badly hampered at halfway but still managed to get himself back into the race before the soft ground took its toll. Today’s conditions suit him much better.

At Newbury the coverage starts on ITV with the 1.40pm, the Group 3 John Porter over 1m4f.
Defoe and Young Rascal may well both make up into Group 1 winners this term, but getting 3lb over this trip I have to be with DEFOE who technically has 4lb in hand.
He was good in this last year and has a great chance of following up for Roger Varian and Andrea Atzeni.
