SAM Smith has admitted that he regularly thinks about whether or not he wants a sex change as he concluded that he is “neither male or female” in a candid new interview.
The 26-year-old singer sat down with Jameela Jamil for her new Instagram series I Weigh.
Speaking about being “non-binary”, Sam said: “You do not identify in a gender. You are just you. You are your own special creation. That is how I take it.
“I am not male or female. I think I float somewhere in between – somewhat on the spectrum.
The Grammy award winner went on to add that he “thinks like a woman at times”.
He told Jameela: “I’ve always had a bit of a war in my body and my mind… I do think like a woman in my head at times.
“I’ve sometimes sat there and questioned, do I want a sex change? It’s something I still think about, but I don’t think it is
“I’ve tried to change that into my thoughts on gender… when I move, when I have sex with men, it’s very feminine. I’m feminine in many ways – and I’ve resented that.”
Sam also opened up about his weight battle over the years, speaking out on undergoing liposuction as a pre-teen, the Stay With Me hitmaker said: “When I was a kid, five or six, I was chubby and then it would get worse and worse and worse and I was holding a lot of weight in my chest.
“And then when I hit 11 years old I went to the doctors. I was so self-conscious that it was affecting my mood every day and my life as a teenager.
