This weekend includes some great opportunities for gamers to play some new titles they might not have in their digital collections yet.
Plenty of free PS4 games are available to try out, and time left to download them from the PSN.
Sony likes to keep the PlayStation Store up to date with free demos and trials, with August getting off to a good start.
And while there aren’t a ton of PlayStation exclusives available to demo, there are some eye-catching third party content.
Over the coming days, gamers have the choice to test out the likes of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, at no extra cost.
This new trial has been released to help celebrate the launch of Call of Duty Season 5, and is there to encourage people to buy the full version, so don’t expect it to last forever.

And gamers who have pre-ordered Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers can also join in on the closed beta fun this weekend.
The good news is that later this week, the open beta for the new Avengers game will arrive on PS4, but that doesn’t start until August 14.
Another free game trial available this weekend includes Borderlands 3, which can be downloaded from the PSN and play at no extra cost until August 9, 5pm BST.
Additionally, gamers who own a PS Plus subscription can also enjoy Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.
It’s a stellar lineup for the new month but it does mean having access to a PS Plus account.
The good news is that Activision has made it very easy to download and play Call of Duty Modern Warfare multiplayer this weekend. And if you already own COD Warzone, you won’t need to do anything special to gain access.
The free COD trial is part of the current playlist lineup, meaning you just need to download from the PlayStation Store and choose the limited time event from the menu.
It should be noted that Warzone is a chunky download and will likely take a while to download on your PS4.
The free Modern Warfare trial is set to run until August 12, ending at around 6pm BST.
So there’s plenty of time left to download Warzone and enjoy the multiplayer action.
Developers Infinity Ward has also announced that they will be offering Double XP throughout the event, meaning there will be plenty of gamers online looking to level up their new Battle Pass.
Here’s more information on today’s launch from Activision, who confirm in a new statement:
“Get more Modern Warfare, free starting on August 7 at 10AM PT until August 12 at 10AM PT.
“This action-packed free access period gives free-to-play Warzone users entrance to new Multiplayer content that debuted in Season Five including two new maps – Suldal Harbor and Petrov Oil Rig.
“Bring your skills to the Multiplayer moshpit and gear up for a battle where you’ll likely encounter more opposition than you do in a standard Battle Royale match.
“The moshpit will offer deathmatch modes like Team Deathmatch, a race to rack up 75 kills and Kill Confirmed, a 65-kill win condition where kills are only counted when they are confirmed by picking up enemy dog tags.
“Plus, there will be some objective modes: Domination, points are earned by holding objectives, first to 200 wins, and Hardpoint, points are earned by holding a single rotating objective, first to 250 wins.”
