Prince Harry ‘wants to raise baby Archie having the best of both worlds like care-free Zara Tindall but it’s impossible’, says royal commentator

PRINCE Harry is desperate for Archie to have the “care-free” upbringing Zara Tindall had, a royal commentator has claimed.

Princess Anne famously turned down a HRH title for her daughter, and the royal now lives in Gloucester with her family and doesn’t have to do formal duties.

Zara, 38, and Mike, 40, have a relatively down-to-earth life, with their two kids, Mia Grace, five, and Lena Elizabeth, one – but live in the sprawling Gatcombe Park estate.

Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe told Fabulous Digital: “Zara’s lived a charmed life, she’s got the best of the both worlds in a way that Harry would dream of.

“If Prince Harry is set his sights on raising Archie in a similar vein where he can live in the big houses and basically be a royal but not a royal, live a normal life with a normal job – that is something that Archie could never have.

“It is impossible that Archie could have a Zara Phillips life.”

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie Harrison was born on May 6, the couple have sought to protect the baby’s privacy.

Archie’s christening was private, the names of the godparents have not been released to the public and he hasn’t yet received a royal title.

Duncan explained why the Duke of Sussex, 34, will struggle to relatively pressure-free childhood for Archie.

He said: “If you asked who Princess Anne was, I think very few people would know. Archie’s parents are so high profile. Certainly if they remain as working royals as well.

“I think in terms of Archie, poor old Harry will try and protect Archie as much as he can but he’ll ultimately be fighting a losing battle. The interest in them as a couple is just so big.”

Speaking of Zara’s life, Duncan said that Zara has managed to enjoy the perks of being in the famous family, without much responsibility.

He added: “She lives a non-royal life, a private ordinary person, but when it suits her, she’s more than happy to sponsorship for a million pounds from Land Rover and cash in on my granny is the queen.

“They are the only members of the royal family that appear to don’t have a care in the world.

“They are very much middle class, there is nothing upper class about the way they live at all.

“In Zara’s mind, she’s not a royal apart from when it’s Christmas Day and she’s with the Queen or Trooping the Colour and she stands on the balcony or Royal Ascot and she’s with them.”

When the couple do enjoy a Saturday date night out in their local pubs in Gloucestershire, their two kids are watched over by Princess Anne, 68.

A source told Fabulous Digital: “Mike and Zara are a real team, a strong family unit, genuinely still in love, they hold hands in public, and are the best company to be around.

“They love a Saturday night in their local pub, content in then knowledge that their two happy daughters are tucked up with granny Princess Anne, listening to her reading them stories.”

Zara, who is a cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, was seen at Royal Ascot joking with the rest of the famous family – and her sweet bond with Prince Charles was on show for all to see.

While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have just forked out £750,000 on a high security team at Frogmore Cottage, life at Gatcombe is much more informal.

“Guests at Gatcombe are treated to ‘Muck in and be merry’”, said the source.

“There are no formalities, what you see is what you get.”

Royal fans recently loved that Zara ‘couldn’t keep her hands off’ Mike when they starred on Top Gear last month, and praised her for singing karaoke at the Celebrity Cup at the Celtic Manor in Wales last week.
