PORN GIANTS are demanding Ministers sanction a fresh delay to age ‘blocks’ on their sites – it emerged last night.

A forum representing the online porn industry claims a new July 15 deadline to get a certification scheme up and running is too “tight”.

Porn giants have requested an extension to October to introduce compulsory age checks on pornographic sites[/caption]

And they warn the rush to meet the deadline may mean there is “less protection” for users’ data.

The Government has already delayed a planned age verification scheme twice.

But in a confidential note seen by Sky News, the Digital Policy Alliance representing online porn firm recommends a new three-month extension to October 15.

Campaigners have long argued the age block could allow widespread tracking of porn watchers’ IDs and browsing habits – creating the potential for blackmail.
