Police launch criminal probe into leak that saw ambassador Sir Kim Darroch forced to quit after branding Donald Trump ‘inept’


AN investigation has been launched into the alleged memo leaks involving ex-Brit ambassador Sir Kim Darroch, police said.

It comes days after Sir Darroch resigned from his £185,000-a-year role leaked memos revealed he called Mr Trump “inept”, “insecure” and “incompetent”.

In the sensitive documents, Sir Darroch allegedly voiced fears that the American president could also still attack Iran.

He wrote: “We don’t really believe this Administration is going to become substantially more normal; less dysfunctional; less unpredictable; less faction riven; less diplomatically clumsy and inept.”
