PIERS Morgan has joked that he and Love Island star Lucie Dolan made the “perfect couple” last night as he cuddled up to her on the red carpet.
Good Morning Britain host Piers, 54, spotted the blonde bombshell at the glitzy ITV Palooza event in London and made a beeline for her at the Royal Festival Hall.
The star is famed for his amusing hatred of Love Island, having previously ranted on numerous occasions about how much he cannot stand the show.
He has even branded previous contestants as “cretins” and “morons”.
But on Tuesday night, Piers cosied up to 21-year-old Lucie and pouted for the cameras.
Sharing a picture of himself and the professional model and surfer on Instagram, he joked to his followers: “Love Islander meets Brain Cells.. the perfect couple! @lucierosedonlan #itvpalooza.”
Flirty Lucie then wrote back: Are you sure under all that grey hair?”
Piers, who is happily married to wife Celia Walden, replied with two ‘crying with laughter’ emojis.
Each year, Piers tends to spend much of the summer moaning about Love Island.
When the 2019 series began in June, he pretended to shoot himself in the head during an episode of Good Morning Britain.
Talking about the show’s launch, he jested: “Tonight’s challenge is going to be they’re asked to count to ten and to name their favourite colour.
“They will then be asked if they can remember their answer an hour later.
“It’s going to be great fun. We’re going to get the Love Island contestants’ views on everything from Donald Trump’s state visit to Brexit.”

Piers has even previously admitted that his eldest son Spencer had been asked to go on Love Island – but said he would be cut out of his will if he signed up.
After telling GMB’s Susanna Reid that show bosses had approached the 25-year-old, the dad-of-four said: “My sons get regularly asked to go on reality television.
“I said no problem they go ‘really Dad?’ I said ‘sure, as long as you don’t mind being cut out of the will, not a problem’.
“And at that point, funnily enough, there’s a dramatic C-change in their attitude.”
