The 41-year-old said he imagined taking a child from the South Bank supermarket in Middlesborough.
He was previously jailed in 2015 after admitting sexually assaulting a child under 13, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and possessing more than 600 indecent and prohibited images of children and extreme pornographic images.
After his release he was recalled after confessing his sick fantasies.
Gazette Live reports Prosecutor Harry Hadfield said: “He disclosed that he fantasised about snatching a five-year-old child from the street, taking them to a derelict house and raping them.”
He was kept in custody until his sentence expired in June last year but an officer found child abuse images on his laptop just a few months later.
They also found searches suggesting an attraction to children among 2,000 pages in his history.
The court heard McDonald said: “I can’t help myself. I can’t stop. I need help.”
He asked if they could “delete it all and forget about it, make it go away”.
‘YOU ARE A DANGEROUS MAN’
The pervert had also deleted his cookies, breaching a sexual harm prevention order which banned him from doing so.
This week he admitted breaching the indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
Mr Constantine, defending, said: “He doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life in custody. He wants to get some help in removing those desires.
