A VETERINARY nurse saved a bumblebee from dying of dehydration in the heat by feeding it sugary water.

Donna Chester-O’Neill, 39, spotted the bee outside her surgery struggling in 86F (30C) heat.

So she filled a syringe with the solution — two parts sugar and one part water — and squirted some out for the stricken bee. The insect quickly perked up and flew away.
