The 26-year-old winger is sure to be of interest to Premier League clubs this summer.

On receiving his award, Lolley posted on Twitter: “Would also like to sincerely say thank you to absolutely none of my team mates, as this is an individual award, losers.”

Predictably, the hilarious tweet was praised by football fans.

One posted: “There’s no i in ‘team’, but there are five in ‘individual brilliance’.”

Michael Cooper described it as “f***ing brilliant”, while Ryan Tooley wrote “you’re my hero”.

Fans of his former club Huddersfield also passed on their congratulations, with many wishing he was still a Terrier.

Sam Dixon wrote: “Why did we sell him”, while Ben Harrison added that he “had that bot of creativity that we are missing this season”.

Another Huddersfield fan posted of his delight that Lolley had “smashed it”.
