NHS Spitfire flypast time: Full timings of when to see NHS Spitfire today

NHS Spitfire will fly over parts of the UK today (Saturday, August 1) for a special outing in order to thank NHS and key workers for their efforts throughout the coronavirus pandemic. The plane has a special feature, with the names of NHS and key workers painted upon its wings.

The Aircraft Restoration Company, a company which specialises in restoring vintage aircraft, will fly the plane on Saturday.

For those looking up at the skies, the message ‘THANK U NHS’ will be painted across the underside of its wings

The blue Spitfire PL983 ‘L’ had been flown every Thursday during lockdown to thank key workers.

This was in alongside the weekly clap for carers, which had taken place on a Thursday every week for 10 weeks during lockdown.

The day of flypasts will culminate at 4.40pm, with the plane landing back at Duxford Airfield.
