A NAZI-obsessed schoolboy who built a shrapnel-filled device to “kill many people” has been unmasked after being caged for five years.
Baby-faced Kieran Cleary, 16, told pals he was going to “go on a rampage” after building the weapon, which could have been made into a lethal bomb.
The teenager also issued a chilling warning about carrying out a school shooting and praised Adolf Hitler as he told friends: “Gas the Jews”.
Cleary can now be identified after a judge lifted reporting restrictions as he caged the teen for five years for a string of terror offences.
He was cleared of the more serious offence of making an explosive substance with intent in May this year.
POTENTIAL BOMB FIND
Jurors during his trial at Leeds Crown Court heard how Cleary nearly created a weapon with a potential 30-metre blast radius capable of being used “to cause maximum harm and death to civilians”.
The teen followed the instructions from ‘The Anarchist’s Corner’ and researched “extreme right-wing material and anti-Muslim material”.
He was flagged to Prevent, the Government’s counter-terrorism strategy in 2017 by police when he was just 13.
They received intelligence he was plotting to go on a murderous rampage and a search of his home found two carbon dioxide canisters joined together and an assortment of nails, tacks and panel pins.
CHILLING SEARCH HISTORY
His internet search history revealed he watched videos about the English Defence League, attacks on Muslims, the Columbine High School massacre, and murder and mutilation.
He tried claiming to jurors he only made the chilling comments because he was showing off and said he built the device to brag to mates.
But jurors saw through his lies and he was convicted of making an explosive substance and three counts of possession of a document likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

Detective Chief Superintendent Martin Snowden, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East, said: “This is a disturbing case of a teenager who developed an alarming interest in extremist ideology, violence, firearms and explosives.
“He has spent considerable time alone on the internet and has intentionally accessed the ‘dark web’.
“His fascination with violence and death is particularly concerning given his age and vulnerability.
“His online searches combined with the manufacture of an explosive device had the potential to put the safety of others at risk and could not go unprosecuted.”
