SAMANTHA Markle says Meghan should use her baby shower trip to the US as a chance to reconnect with her estranged father.
The 54-year-old said the Duchess of Sussex should consider contacting Thomas Markle Sr, 74, because “you never know when you’re going to get that opportunity again”.

The pregnant royal has been on a private visit to New York since Thursday and has been snapped buying baby clothes and enjoying macaroons with pals at French patisserie Ladurée in Soho over the weekend.
Samantha, of Ocala, Florida, told Daily Mail TV Meghan does deserve to enjoy her baby shower, but should contact their father.
She said: “Setting all personal things aside, I understand a baby shower is an exciting time – it’s about getting with friends, getting things ready for the baby.
“But you are on this continent Meghan and I would just really love to see her have contact with my dad while she’s here.
“Life is very short and you never know when you’re going to get that opportunity again so it would seem par for the course and I hope it happens.”
The 37-year-old royal’s relationship with her father hit the rocks after her father missed the royal wedding last May and after being caught staging fake paparazzi photos near his home in Mexico.
‘LIFE IS SHORT’
The retired lighting director suffered a series of heart attacks and pulled out of the big day in the final hours – leaving Prince Charles to step in and walk Meghan down the aisle.
Since then a series of interviews Thomas has given to multiple newspapers have also put a strain on the relationship when it emerged Meghan penned a letter to him begging him to stop his antics.
Meghan cradled her bump yesterday as she stepped out of a New York hotel ready for her “secret” baby shower.
Her pals were seen earlier arriving with blue gifts, along with a delivery of pink roses – as royal fans look for any hint on the baby’s sex.
People were seen unloading pink roses from a delivery truck this morning outside the hotel.
Meghan, now seven months pregnant, flew from London to the US last Friday for five nights of shopping and pampering.

She was spotted buying baby clothes at high-end store Bonpoint and enjoying a leisurely lunch in the city on Saturday.
A pal said: “The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves.
“This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments.
“It’s been a relaxing visit. Nothing beats face time with your friends. Meg will be flying home refreshed and relaxed—and with a lot of new baby clothes.”
And best friends, including Jessica Mulroney, have organised a special baby shower party on Tuesday at an exclusive New York hotel.
Foodie Meghan, 37, has enjoyed exclusive private dining at her swanky hotel.
She was also spotted with stylist pal Jess, 39, at the French Ladurée cafe in New York’s SoHo district on Saturday, February 16, for macaroons and tea in one of the bakery’s private spaces.
