MATT CHAPMAN is the voice of ITV Racing and has been around the block more times than Thistlecrack.
So when he talks, the racing world listen. Here, Chappers shares his golden rules for betting on the Cheltenham Festival.
1 Bookmaker offers
Take advantage of these. Bookmakers give crazy offers at Cheltenham in the hope of sucking you into betting with them forever more.
However, you can take advantage without ever having to be loyal to them in the future.
Use every one you can to help you make a profit. Show no loyalty. Use the bookies like they want to use you.
Watch as many videos of the horses you fancy as you can. But most importantly watch horses that are returning to Cheltenham.
Many disappoint throughout a campaign but year in year out run well at Cheltenham where they get conditions they rarely find somewhere else.
Read up on as much as you can before having a bet. Most trainers are honest and will give their honest opinions.
If someone like Willie Mullins says Benie des Dieux is their best chance sit up and take note!
4 No runner no bet
If playing still in the ante-post markets take advantage of this. Confusion will often reign up to 48 hours before some of the races.
At least if you chose the wrong race get your money back.

These are important at Cheltenham. Certain types of horses win and certain trainers target certain types of horses for certain types of races. Check them out.
For example, did you know that 27 of the last 31 winners of the 2m5f Plate Handicap Chase on day three had a maximum official rating of 142?
And that ten of the last 12 winners of the Boodles Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle on day two had an official rating of between 127 and 133?
6 Have a view
Rely on your own view. If you fancy a horse back it. Nothing worse in this game than changing your mind or being talked out of something only to find you were right all along.
Bet within your means. And enjoy betting.
It does not have to be life and death despite what some will tell you.
8 Have fun
Enjoy the greatest jumps meeting on planet earth. If you are not there watch ITV4 at 9.30am for the Opening Show and get gripped by the build up.
9 Sir Erec
Smash into him for the Triumph Hurdle. He looks outstanding.
10 Gold Cup
Often won by stamina rather than brilliance. That means Native River is once again the best eachway bet, as he was last year when I put him up at similar odds.
With rain on the way he’ll be so hard to keep out the frame.
