FRANK LAMPARD’S dream of promotion in his first season of management is still alive after a thrilling 4-2 play-off victory over Leeds – thanks to supersub Jack Marriott.

Derby – 1-0 down from Saturday’s first leg – looked to be resigned to another season in the Championship when Stuart Dallas reacted first to prod Leeds in front on the night.

But back came the Rams with three goals in 13 minutes either side of half-time.

Marriott scored with his first touch after coming on and then Mason Mount brought the tie level seconds after the break.

And Harry Wilson completed the turnaround when he slotted in a pressure penalty.

But back came Leeds – never a side to lie down and be trampled over – as Dallas found the bottom corner in style to make it 3-3 on aggregate.

Gaetano Berardi flew into a stupid tackle, already booked, and was sent off with 12 minutes to go.

And then Marriott ran on to Richard Keogh’s pass to clip over Kiko Casilla for a dramatic winner.

There was still time for more drama as Scott Malone also saw red for a second yellow.

But it was Lampard left celebrating on the Elland Road pitch after 96 minutes of stunning, play-off drama.
