Manchester United are conducting transfer business behind the scenes with Jadon Sancho on their radar. David De Gea and Leicester’s James Maddison also feature in today’s round-up. So Express Sport will now bring you all the latest information coming out of Old Trafford.

Sancho takes giant step

Manchester United are moving closer to signing Jadon Sancho.

Bild in Germany say that the deal is ‘gathering pace’ with the Red Devils now prepared to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £108million asking price.

However, they’d rather do that via instalments. Ed Woodward is willing to offer £63m up front before paying the rest in the years ahead.

That would supposedly suit Dortmund, who just want the £108m asking price met.

And it seems like United are now on the verge of finally landing the player, who they’ve tried twice in the past to sign under both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ferdinand tears

Nemanja Vidic has revealed Rio Ferdinand was in tears after the club’s Champions League final win over Chelsea in 2008.

“Me and Rio played so many games together, but it’s the most important ones that you remember, like winning the Premier League at Wigan and Blackburn, and definitely the Champions League final against Chelsea in Moscow,” he told United’s official website.

“Any game you secure a trophy is a special one, so the Champions League final stands out.

“A lot of great players didn’t get the chance to lift that trophy, so in terms of that I would say the Champions League is probably the most memorable game I had with Rio.

“I had forgotten, actually, until he said recently, but I had to stop Rio crying after we won the trophy! We are different in many ways!

“Rio obviously puts so much hard work into everything he does, and he had this dream to win the Champions League.”
