MANCHESTER UNITED stars were left “baffled” after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took them to the club’s former training ground before the defeat to City.
The under-fire Norwegian held a light session at The Cliff on Wednesday in a desperate bid to turn around his team’s disastrous run of form.
United have trained at the Carrington base since Sir Alex Ferguson moved them out of The Cliff in 2000.
Solskjaer had hoped the change of scenery would inspire his players after the shocking 4-0 defeat to Everton.
But according to the Metro, a number of the stars were “baffled” after the boss explained his plan at the team hotel.
It is reported that the “majority” of United’s players did not find the trip down memory lane beneficial before the match.
Fergie moved his team out of The Cliff 19 years ago because the facilities were too basic and it was too open to the public.
But Solskjaer wanted his players to have a “reality check” to remind them of their responsibilities of playing for United.
After the defeat to the Toffees, he said: “Most of them have really impressed me in their attitude.
“But there are some that need to get a reality check on where they’re at.”
