MANCHESTER UNITED are pondering a shock move Chelsea kid Reece James, according to reports.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to overhaul his squad in the summer to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool next season.
To shake up his defence, Solskjaer will look to add a central defender who can slot straight into his backline next term.
A new right-back is also on the Norwegian’s agenda with club skipper Antonio Valencia on his way out and the alarming dip in form of Ashley Young.
And the 19-year-old right-back has come on to United’s radar after an impressive season on loan at Wigan to aid his development.
James has featured in all 44 of the Latics’ Championship games this term and has even been pushed into midfield by boss Paul Cook.
The Daily Mail reckon the Chelsea teenager is valued at around £15million.
However, the Blues have plans for James next season and want him to be part of the senior set-up and challenge first-choice right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
His excellent stint at the DW Stadium has been rewarded by being named in the Championship team of the season.
