Man Utd and Man City in £25m bidding war for Ajax star Hakim Ziyech after Champions League run

AJAX golden boy Hakim Ziyech is a £25million summer target for Manchester City.

And that could spark a Manchester shoot-out, with United also keen on the Morocco midfielder.

Ziyech, 26, has a deal until 2021 but it includes a £25m buy-out.

He has been a key figure in Ajax’s march to the Champions League semi- finals, scoring in both legs as they knocked Real Madrid out in the last 16.

Liverpool are also keen and Arsenal and Bayern Munich have previously shown interest, too.

A £10m buy from Twente in 2016, Ziyech played in all three of Morocco’s 2018 World Cup games and has hit 17 goals for Eredivisie leaders Ajax.

City are also lining up John Stones for a new deal.

The England centre-back still has three years left but Etihad bosses want to tie him down.

Stones, 24, was a £47.5m buy from Everton in 2016 and is valued highly by boss Pep Guardiola, even though he missed out in favour of skipper Vincent Kompany in Wednesday’s Euro KO by Spurs.

Guardiola’s move come just as the Spanish media claim up to eight City players have asked to leave the Etihad this summer, including Germany wideman Leroy Sane and Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus.

El Chiringuito say the two superstars want to be first-choice players.

Sane, 23, has provided 15 goals and 18 assists in 42 games for City this term.

But in that time Jesus, 22, managed just eight Premier League starts.
