JESSE LINGARD and John Stones hope to be Lion kings in the near future.
But for now the crocked England duo – and big Manchester rivals – are visiting big cats and a gifted chimpanzee at a Dubai zoo.
United midfield dynamo Lingard is known for having a tiger in his tank but as he donned a long white robe and headgear he was snapped with a roaring. pawing, caged lion just inches behind him.
City defender Stones joined him on an animal expedition that included visiting a tent to see a chimp perform tricks.
Lingard, 26, even seemed to kiss the ape – perhaps in gratitude for the privileged show they were getting.
Stones, 24, neglected the Middle East-style thawb worn by Lingard in favour of more traditional clothing for Western tourists – shorts, T-shirt and canvas shoes.
The pair walked around the park before popping inside the tent to to see the chimp – greeting it with pat on the back.
After it jumped on a stool to eat, the chimp did several spins and appeared to dance.
Perhaps it got the idea from watching penalty-area theatrics in the Premier League and decided such a show was the best way to make Lingard and Stones feel at home.
The two World Cup stars had watched from afar the previous night as Gareth Southgate’s ever-more-youthful Three Lions outclassed the Czech Republic 5-0 in the European Championship opener at Wembley.
And, while Stones was visitng big cats, it was club-mate Raheem Sterling who notched a hat-trick to suggest he is now England’s mane main.
