Lucifer will return with the first eight episodes of the new season later in August, much to the delight of fans. However, there is still a lot of mystery about how exactly Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) will go back to Earth. Now one of the stars has confirmed a huge time jump and some might be concerned about what this means for his romance with Chloe Decker (Lauren German).
Will Lucifer have moved on from Chloe in season 5?
When Lucifer and Chloe parted ways at the end of season four, it seemed like their goodbye was final.
Many fans were left heartbroken after Chloe told Lucifer she loved him and he decided to leave her for good to return to Hell.
The trailer for season six hints at this as well, opening on Lucifer saying: “She’ll be just fine without me.”
So far, in season five the creators have confirmed he will make his return to Earth but it is not clear whether this will be for Chloe or to simply destroy his brother who has tried to take his place.

He said: “I think I’m allowed to say this, we pick up six months later.”
Fans do know Chloe is still heartbroken by Lucifer’s absence at the beginning of the series.
Lauren German told ET: “Season five picks up… Chloe is heartbroken but she’s trying to almost play it cool more or less with Maze.
“They’re going out, drinking a lot, they are dancing. But also, Maze is helping her as a bounty hunter at the LAPD.
“Chloe has no idea where Lucifer is. She’s heartbroken but has no idea how to show it.”
However, it is not yet clear whether Lucifer will be equally as heartbroken going in or not.
Fans who have watched the show from the beginning know how much Lucifer is in love with Chloe and the trailer does tease romance between the pair in the latest outing.
But just what the impact of those hundreds of years will be is only expected to be revealed when the series drops on Netflix.
Lucifer season 5, part 1 is released on Netflix on August 21.
