Love Island’s Kaz Crossley claims contestants used ‘racist accents’ to communicate secretly because they knew it couldn’t be aired

LOVE Island star Kaz Crossley has claimed that contestants used “racist accents” to discuss things that they didn’t want the general public to see – because they knew show bosses couldn’t air the scenes.

The 24-year-old beauty shot to fame after appearing on last year’s series of the show, leaving the villa with hunk Josh Denzel before calling time on the romance earlier this year.

Now Kaz has opened up about her experience on the programme, revealing the stars’ shock tactics that they used to reserve their privacy – and admitted that the move got them in trouble with show bosses.

Speaking to Cambridge Union, the reality star said: “You knew what they could show or not – like they couldn’t put in a lot of swearing, bad words or if you talked about racist jokes, anything like that.

“So sometimes, and we got into trouble for it, if you talk in an accent and say what you wanted to say then you knew they were never going to show it because they don’t want to offend people.”

Kaz went on to add that the contestants soon learned which accents they could and couldn’t use, continuing: “They show accents from the UK but not others, to avoid offending other countries.”

The Sun Online have contacted Love Island reps for comment.

The brunette beauty told the publication that bosses manipulate what has been filmed to create their own pre-decided storylines, admitting that everybody is portrayed how producers want them to be portrayed.

She said: “I wouldn’t say it’s all portrayed how it is, because it’s not.”

The star also suggested that the thousands of wannabes who apply to go into the famous villa are wasting their time as producers actively scout “the hottest people”.

In fact, Kaz was in Thailand when bosses saw one of her social media profiles and contacted her about signing up for the show – with the star telling them that she would only return to the UK if they guaranteed her a spot on the series.

She explained: “I didn’t actually apply, I got scouted.

“I found that a lot of people were scouted and that’s because of the ‘Love Island look.’

“They want everyone to look pretty, so they scout the hottest people and that’s who they get on the show.”
