Love Island’s Amy Hart says she’s too famous to be in charge of the plane as she officially quits her job with British Airways after 8 years


LOVE Island’s Amy Hart has officially left her day job as an air stewardess after eight years.

The 27-year-old, who famously left the villa after being dumped by Curtis Pritchard, is swapping the sky in favour of her new showbiz life, admitting it’s not “attainable” for her to work there anymore.

Taking to Instagram to address her decision, Amy revealed how she’d finally got round to handing in her pass after resigning in May.

She said: “A lot of people are asking why I’ve left BA. I actually left on the 25 May.

“I just haven’t got round to taking all my stuff back yet because I’ve been so busy.”

In a separate video, she added: “I’ve just come out of physio and come out to lots of messages about the whole BA thing. I can’t work there anymore because I’m there to be in charge of the safety of the whole plane.

“Right now that just wouldn’t be attainable because people would be… this isn’t me sounding like everyone thinks I’m amazing because it’s not that at all.

“People would be filming. People filmed us when I hadn’t been on a TV show that millions of people watched.

“People would be filming and people would be trying to pick up on everything that I did wrong. Not that I ever did anything wrong.”

Amy later went on to explain that she’s willing to return in the future.

She first announced the news by sharing an image of her old British Airways lanyard alongside a crying face emoji.

The star wrote: “Giving this back today. End of an era.”

She then went on to post a picture of her old work colleagues wearing Christmas jumpers, saying: “Gatwick till I day.”

The news comes days after Amy revealed how much she missed her former job, despite being happy with her new career path.

She said: “Don’t get me wrong, Love Island was a life changing experience, but sometimes…what I wouldn’t give to be sat in the back galley, on a canister talking through the latest goings on or holding court in the front galley at 4am.”

The former beauty pageant queen hit it off with professional dancer Curtis shortly after entering the villa.

However, their romance came to an end when his head was turned by Jourdan Riane as soon as Amy headed to Casa Amor.

Despite not finding love in the villa, she has went on to secure a number of exciting TV gigs including a guest panellist role on Loose Women.

She told us: “I’m so excited, I’ve been a fan of Loose Women since I was 12.

“It’s my birthday tomorrow so this is the best present ever. I can’t wait to see the ladies next Wednesday.”
