Love Island Bosses Used Tinder To Find Contestants For This Year’s Series

LOVE Island bosses used dating app Tinder to find sexy singletons for the new series.

New contestants are preparing for eight weeks of grafting, getting mugged off and catching feelings as the series returns on June 4.

Despite falling for the likes of 2017 champions Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies, senior producer Angela Jain said to expect a whole host of totally different characters when the series kicks off.

She said: “We don’t want to cast the same characters every time, we aren’t looking for the next Camilla or the next Montana, that’s the opposite of what we’re looking for.”

Last year producers trawled nightclubs, approached well-known partygoers and used social media to find new faces for the villa.

But in order to pick out the most entertaining – and attractive – islanders yet, they signed up to Tinder.

When the series launches on June 4 it will be be presented by newly engaged Caroline Flack. She has hosted Love Island since it returned to TV in 2015.

On a panel at the Royal Television Society, Caroline said: “To host something you’d actually watch, that’s the dream. You want to be a viewer too. It was a show I’d loved beforehand,” she told the panel.
