The police put up crime scene tents near the bins outside housing complex Ebenezer House, in Kennington, south London, at 4am yesterday. Witnesses reported hearing a “loud bang” from outside the building in the early hours. Others claimed a man had fallen from a balcony on the 19th floor, according to the Mail Online.
The London Met Police confirmed that the man died prior to the arrival of the paramedics.
Officers added the death is “not being treated as suspicious”.
Met Police said: “A cordon was in place outside Ebenezer House, Kennington Lane, SE11 earlier today after a man fell from a height and died.
“Police were called at 04.13hrs on Sunday, 2 August by LAS who were at the scene.
The Met Police on Twitter had put out a statement saying: “A cordon was in place outside Ebenezer House.
“Kennington Lane SE11 earlier today after a man fell from a height.
“Police were called at 04.13hrs by LAS & the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious.
“The cordon has now been lifted.”
Last year a devastated mother screamed “my son is dead” after her three-year-old son plunged to his death on his third birthday.
This happened after falling 100ft from the window of his family’s fourth-floor flat.
