LIAM Payne looked downcast as he jetted into New York just hours after Naomi Campbell.
The 25-year-old singer is enjoying a budding romance with the supermodel, 48, and headed to the Big Apple a day after she arrived in the American city.
Despite his fame, Liam pushed his own luggage through JFK Airport, wearing a black beanie hat and a grey suede jacket with furry collar.
The star failed to crack a smile as he made his way through the terminal, despite the fact he could be seeing Naomi during his trip.
The supermodel was pictured on Tuesday in New York, looking as glamorous as ever in a long white coat over an all-black outfit which included over the knee leather boots and a large handbag.
Naomi kept her eyes covered with some large designer shades as she made her way into the Mercer Hotel ahead of New York Fashion Week.
Liam’s arrival comes hours after he hinted at a rocky love life, admitting he would call his autobiography It’s A Mistake But I’m Working On It, before sighing: “Why can’t love be simple?”
Liam opened up during an Instagram Live session with Rita Ora where they bombarded each other with questions.
When Rita asked what he would call his book, Liam replied: “Oh Jesus. Mine would probably be It’s A Mistake But I’m Working On It.”
Later, when Rita spoke about the “pressure” of Valentine’s Day, Liam replied: “You’re telling me – why can’t love be simple?”

It rarely has been for Liam, who The Sun revealed had his first bust-up with 48-year-old girlfriend Naomi over their appearance at Sunday’s Baftas.
A source explained: “Naomi and Liam argued about the Baftas and she bluntly told him they were not going together.
“She suggested he go in through a rear door to avoid any fuss.
“She wants to avoid it all becoming a circus and drama around her and Liam and doesn’t want to detract from the event.”
