MERCEDES have been forced to defend their new F1 car after fans failed to spot barely any difference to last year’s.
The team took to social media to unveil the W10 in which Lewis Hamilton will be hoping to win his sixth championship title.
Alongside an image of the car was the caption: “New Year. New Look. Same Target.”
In the build-up to the release, Mercedes had been hinting at a new design that included a camouflage exterior.
They teased fans were new body work that read: “Silver is so last season.”
But it appears they have gone with silver once again and some supporters are underwhelmed.
One wrote: “But what happened to the camo?”
Another added: “Guys where is the camo?”
But the majority of race fans appear to love the slick design and one described it as: “Sleek and stunning.”
A couple of minor changes to the car include silver patterns on the back of the car and new shade of light blue across the side.
The new season gets underway on March 15 in Australia and Mercedes boss Toto Wolff said ahead of the opener: “The 2019 season will be a new challenge for all of us,

The regulations have changed quite substantially. We have to start from scratch, we need to prove ourselves again – against our own expectations and against our competitors.
“We start the season with zero points, so we’re taking nothing for granted and there’s absolutely no feeling of entitlement to be at the front.
“In fact, with the regulation change for the new season, every team can have a shot at the title and we’re seeing all of them as a potential threat.”
Valtteri Bottas took the car for a test spin earlier day, warming up the seat for Hamilton for the afternoon drive.
