Lewis Hamilton talks up 'interesting' Max Verstappen boost for 70th Anniversary Grand Prix

“I think everyone learned quite a lot about that tyre already last weekend. I think we have two new sets of hards.”

Hamilton and Bottas switched to medium tyres during Q3 after laying down their first flying laps on the softs.

The Finn is hoping that deciding against utilising the hard tyres does not come back to bite Mercedes at Silverstone.

“Not really, no,” said Bottas. “That was not in – at least, didn’t come into my ears in the discussions.

“I hope we made the right choice. Obviously we managed to get the front row, so that’s always good.”

Hamilton and Bottas currently sit first and second respectively in the drivers’ standings, with Verstappen in third.
