JEROME BOATENG has left Bayern Munich’s pre-season tour of the USA.
The Bundesliga champions have announced that the defender is set to fly back to Germany tomorrow due to “private reasons”.
Boateng, 30, played 45 minutes in the 2-1 loss to Arsenal in Los Angeles on Thursday.
But Bayern have revealed that the centre-back’s participation in their Audi Summer Tour has come to an end.
The Bundesliga giants said in a statement: “Jerome Boateng will prematurely end FC Bayern’s Audi Summer Tour 2019.
“The 30-year-old center-back will fly from Houston back to Munich on Sunday for private reasons.”
It remains to be seen why Boateng was forced to leave Bayern’s training camp.
But the former Manchester City star has been linked with a move away from Allianz Arena.
The centre-back is not in Niko Kovac’s plans for next season – with Manchester United previously monitoring the German’s situation.

But Boateng was expected to pass up on his Premier League return and speak to Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus instead.
Both clubs have shown interest in taking him in a cut-price £15million deal as the defender has one year left on his contract.
And the Boateng is prepared to run down his deal if Bayern price him out of a deal to one of their Champions League rivals.
