THE countdown to World Gin Day is officially on and Greene King is celebrating by giving away a FREE Gin and Tonic.

The pub giant is giving you a chance to enjoy a zesty Beefeater Blood Orange Gin or a sweet Beefeater Pink Strawberry Gin  at one of 900 participating sites.

In exchange, all that Greene King asks you to do is bring an orange along with you.

Yes, an orange.

You will only be able to claim the offer on the holiest of days, World Gin Day, also known as Saturday 8th June.

The offer entitles you to a 25ml measure of your Beefeater gin of choice and a Schweppes tonic – which is usually £6.35.

Unfortunately, your orange will only be valid for one free drink and you won’t be able to double up for less or use it with any other promotion.

Sadly, the fruity deal isn’t available in Scotland and will only be available while in participating pubs while stocks last.

To get the offer, you need to:

  • Buy an orange – currently 30p at Tesco.
  • Be free on World Gin Day – Saturday 8th June.
  • Follow this link to find out where your nearest participating Greene King pub is.
  • Order either a Beefeater Pink Gin or a Beefeater Blood Orange Gin.
  • Show a team member at the bar your orange.
  • Drink up!

In the last ten years sales of gin – affectionately known as Mother’s Ruin – have tripled.

Drinkers spent £461million on gin last year, up by 32.5 per cent on the year, according to the Office for National Statistics.
