JACK Whitehall, known as the posh boy of comedy, is one of the UK’s best nkown comedians thanks to his meteoric rise to fame.
He is most famous for the TV series Fresh Meat and he is set to play Disney’s first-ever gay character in The Jungle Cruise – we take a look at the jam-packed career of the well-spoken comic from Putney…
Who is Jack Whitehall? What was his early career?
Jack Whitehall was born on July 7, 1988, in London and is a comic and actor.
His father, Michael Whitehall, was an agent for Judi Dench and Colin Firth, among others. He also has two godfathers, Nigel Havers and the late Richard Griffiths.
As a child he attended Tower House School in West London, where he was a fellow pupil with Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson – he has often joked R-Patz stole all the best acting roles from him at school.
Jack took a gap year where he decided to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. He later attended the University of Manchester for two terms only, to study History of Art.
Jack then got his big break presenting Celebrity Big Brother’s Big Mouth.
What TV shows has Jack Whitehall been in?
Jack is a regular panellist on comedy quiz shows, including 8 out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Mock the Week.
He’s also known for appearing in Sky’s A League of their Own alongside James Corden, however, The Sun reported that he left the Sky1 series to relocate to the USA.
As well as presenting and being a comic, Jack is also an actor and he rose to prominence when he starred as the hapless JP in Fresh Meat
From there he went on to get his own series, Bad Education. He’s also starred in Comedy Central’s Drunk History as Sir Walter Raleigh.
Early in 2017, Jack starred in the TV adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s novel, Decline and Fall.
In his role as naive theology student Paul Pennyfeather, he managed to keep up his record of being naked in pretty much every TV show he’s in – within the first five minutes!
He also revealed in an exclusive interview with The Sun that he found it hard to control himself starring alongside his childhood crush, Eva Longoria.
In 2017, Jack released a documentary on Netflix called Travels with My Father where he went on a gap yefar-flung flung destinations such as Thailand and Cambodia – with his father.
Jack then hosted the Brit Awards on February 21, 2018, where he memorably took aim at England striker Harry Kane and reprimanded Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for “already being wasted”.

Jack has taken his acting skills to the big screen.
His BBC show Bad Education was turned into a feature-length film.
He also lent his voice to the blockbuster movie Frozen, where he had the role of Gothi the troll priest.
Unfortunately for Jack, the role was then reduced to a non-speaking part when the final film was released.

On April 15, 2018 The Sun exclusively revealed how Kirsty romped with comic Jack at a star-studded party.
Kirsty, 42, and Jack went into a room alone after a steamy clinch in front of fellow celeb guests.
A source revealed: “The chemistry between them was brewing all night. They had the hots for each other.
“They later went to the Groucho Club in London’s West End, then to a party at a flat, taking some friends with them.
“When they got there, they ramped things up and weren’t trying to hide it.
“They were kissing and being very touchy-feely before heading off for some privacy. Everybody there knew what was going on.
“Jack’s always had a thing for Kirsty and thinks she’s hot.
“Given that they are both single, they went for it. Who knows if anything serious will develop? But it’s fun for the moment.”
When did Jack date Gemma Chan?
Jack Whitehall started dating Gemma Chan in 2011, when they met on the set of Fresh Meat.
On their first date they went to Nando’s (and split the bill).
However, the Sun exclusively revealed in December 2017 that the pair parted ways after struggling to make their relationship work around their hectic filming schedules.
A source said: “Jack and Gemma secretly pulled the plug on their relationship but remain good friends.
“For the past couple of years, they’ve both been finding it difficult to make proper time for one another and, with their schedules showing no signs of slowing down, have decided to go their separate ways.
“It’s sad but they remain supportive of one another.”

Is his character in Disney’s The Jungle Cruise gay?
On August 12, 2018, The Sun exclusively revealed Jack Whitehall was cast to play Disney’s first-ever gay character in The Jungle Cruise.
Jack, 30, plays a “fun, effete” young man in the forthcoming blockbuster The Jungle Cruise, co-starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, 46, and Emily Blunt, 35.
A source said: “This is a huge gig for Jack and has landed him his biggest ever pay cheque.
“But, more excitingly, he is playing a gay man – one who is hugely effete, very camp and very funny.
“It’s a dream role. Disney’s always been incredibly supportive of the LGBTQ community.
“This latest script, set at a time when it wasn’t socially acceptable to be gay, is another significant turning point.”
