How Man Utd star Mason Greenwood behaves behind the scenes at Old Trafford

Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is a quiet character at Old Trafford, it has been claimed. The 18-year-old is the talk of the city after shining this season, scoring 16 goals across all competitions. And, in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he has a manager prepared to show him patience.

Only Manchester United fans knew of Greenwood when he made his debut a year ago, coming off the bench in the dramatic 3-1 Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

But the 18-year-old is on his way to becoming a household name having been in outstanding form this season.

United sold Romelu Lukaku and loaned out Alexis Sanchez back in the summer in order to protect Greenwood’s development, determined to make things easier for the teenage talent.

And GQ Magazine say Greenwood is a quiet character, almost shy.

It’s claimed he’s been looked after and protected by good parents, Melanie and Andrew, with his father both his agent and advisor.

The family themselves are described as ‘down to earth, quiet and protective.’

“He is quiet, I have to say, but the boy is always very positive and we are happy to have him in the team.”

Matic also expressed a belief that Greenwood considered Marcus Rashford to be a role model on his career.

“I think that when he has seen players who came through the academy, he has seen Marcus as a role model and he has tried to follow those steps, it was easier too for him to see that someone can achieve big things coming from the academy, so I am happy for him,” he added.

“It is important to have players from the academy. They are making big players, good people, it’s important they are good people for the changing room.

“The expectation from our fans is high and they have to be ready to play at the highest level.”
