How Chelsea could line up with Hudson-Odoi and Higuain dilemmas for Sarri ahead of Slavia Prague

MAURIZIO SARRI has a couple of tough calls to make ahead of Chelsea’s Europa League quarter-final clash with Slavia Prague.

The Blues head to the Czech Republic on Thursday night for the first-leg – and Sarri already has more questions than answers.

For starters, the fate of Callum Hudson-Odoi will be on the mind of all Chelsea supporters.

The England winger, 18, has finally broken in to the starting XI in recent weeks as Sarri caved in to fan pressure.

However, he could be dumped for Thursday’s clash for the experience of either Pedro or Willian.

Both are seasoned veterans in Europe and could be seen as a cool head over the young and exciting – yet inexperienced – Hudson-Odoi.

But that is by no means not Sarri’s only conundrum – with the starting striker spot up for grabs.

Gonzalo Higuain has been starting the majority of games lately, but once again put in a sub-par performance against West Ham.

Chelsea were bailed out by two moments of Eden Hazard magic, meaning fan-favourite Olivier Giroud could well force his way into the XI in Prague.

The Frenchman is the top scorer in the Europa League this term with nine goals – averaging just 74 minutes per strike.

Interestingly, Hudson-Odoi is Chelsea’s second-top scorer in the competition with four goals at 104 minutes apiece.

Injury-wise, there are questions marks over only two players – Ethan Ampadu and Marcos Alonso – with Emerson likely to start at left-back.

Other than that, there are unlikely to be any surprises in the Chelsea side this week.

Usual suspects Jorginho, Kepa Arrizabalaga, N’Golo Kante and Cesar Azpilicueta in the side.

In midfield, there will be a straight fight between current incumbent Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley for the third and final centre-mid spot.
