GAME of Thrones fans have had a drastic change of heart about fan favourite Daenerys Targaryen after the first episode of season eight.
The tide has turned against the Mother of Dragons after she coldly told Samwell Tarly that she burned his father and brother alive.
The Breaker of Chains failed to show emotion when telling Sam she killed his family for treason.
And now fans fear that Daenerys will turn evil like her father King Aerys II.
The Mad King descended into insanity at the end of his rule and his paranoia and cruelty grew out of control.
Daenerys’ cold reaction could foreshadow that she will suffer the same fate and descend into madness.
Other fans pointed to the moment when Sam questioned whether Daenerys would make a good queen.
He asked Jon Snow: “You gave up your crown to save your people. Would she do the same?”
And the question about her intentions rang alarm bells for many fans.
In Game of Thrones history, Daenerys’ dad was eventually killed by a member of his own Kingsguard – Ser Jaime Lannister.
The act gained Jaime the nickname Kingslayer and now fans fear Jon Snow could be forced to do the same to Daenerys.
Until now Daenerys has become famous for her good deeds including freeing slaves and becoming the Breaker of Chains.
But fans point out that her personality is quickly changing and in season 7 she revealed her dark side when she condemned Randyll Tarly and his son Dickon to death by dragon fire.
Drogon unleashed his dragon fire, roasting Randyll and Dickon alive and killing them instantly.
The remaining soldiers kneeled in terror as Tyrion reflected uneasily over the brutal execution.
And fans predict her madness will only get worse in season 8.
“One thing I feel for sure will happen is Dany will go mad like her dad and Jon will be forced to betray/kill her,” a Reddit user posted.
“Kinda been leading that direction in my opinion with each season her making more significant decisions which tip her that way.

“You can see in season 7 when she burns Sam’s brother and dad that Tyrion and Varys are worried about her sanity when they discuss what happened and how they won’t let another mad Targaryen rule.”
Game of Thrones episode two will air on Monday, April 29 on Sky Atlantic and Now TV.
