TEASER images for the upcoming third episode of Game of Thrones season eight have been revealed, with the snaps showing off Sansa Stark’s armour as Jamie Lannister and Brienne of Tarth fighting side-by-side at the Battle of Winterfell.
Nervous viewers are anticipating that a huge amount of their favourite characters will be killed off in this weekend’s instalment of the show.
HBO shared six new pictures with fans last night, whetting their appetite for the impending battle.
In one photo, Lady of Winterfell Sansa Stark [Sophie Turner] looks nervous as she clasps her hands to her lap while wearing her striking leather armour.
The character is keeping warm from the North’s snow with a fur shawl draped over her shoulders.
Another image shows Sansa with her younger sister, Arya Stark [Maisie Williams], at the castle and Sansa looks scared as she no doubt fears for her family’s life before the battle ensues.
The next image is rather more poignant, with Jamie Lannister [Nikolaj Coster-Waldau] bracing for battle under the command of Brienne, played by Gwendoline Christie.
The pair’s touching relationship goes all the way back to the second season of the hit fantasy show, and fans were delighted when Brienne defended Jamie in this week’s episode.
In fact, some viewers were in tears when Jamie repaid Brienne by officially making her a Knight – something that she has always dreamed of.
He told his close friend that he would be honoured to fight under her command in the battle against the Night King and his army of the dead, and it looks as though he has now got his wish – although a popular fan theory suggests that this joy will be short-lived and Brienne will die in the upcoming fight.
Another picture shows Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryan, played by Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke, standing together as they stare across the snowy landscape and battle in the distance.
Tyrion Lannister [Peter Dinklage] and Varys [Conleth Hill] can be seen awaiting news in the crypts alongside Winterfell’s more vulnerable residents, mostly women and children.

The final teaser image shows Jon looking absolutely petrified as he stares at something while fire burns behind him.
This scene was also shown in a 30-second teaser trailer that was released after episode two aired.
It was previously revealed that next week’s episode of Game of Thrones will be the show’s longest ever instalment at 82 minutes – with fans believing that the Battle of Winterfell will mark the demise of several characters.
