Epic Games Store has been updated to include a new free download on the PC platform.

The Witness was available to claim for the past two weeks but that period has now ended.

April 18 has seen a new title launched on the Epic Store as a free game that can be downloaded right now.

For those gamers interested in playing something new this weekend, Transistor, a sci-fi themed action RPG, is the next free download.

Like with The Witness, Transistor will be available for the next two weeks, meaning it won’t disappear until May 2.

Created by Supergiant Games, the new RPG has earned favourable reviews on Metacritic, scoring an average of 8.3 from 758 user ratings.

That’s hard to achieve, with only eight negative reviews and 19 mixed, currently listed on the site.

“From the creators of Hades and Bastion, Transistor is a sci-fi themed action RPG that invites you to wield an extraordinary weapon of unknown origin as you fight through a stunning futuristic city,” the official Transistor description reads.

“Transistor seamlessly integrates thoughtful strategic planning into a fast-paced action experience, melding responsive gameplay and rich atmospheric storytelling. During the course of the adventure, you will piece together the Transistor’s mysteries as you pursue its former owners.”

And we already know what will be replacing Transistor next month on the Epic Games Store.

Another puzzle game will be replacing the Supergiant Games titles, with World of Goo set to go live on May 2.

“Beautiful and surprising, the millions of Goo Balls who live in the World of Goo are curious to explore – but they don’t know that they are in a game, or that they are extremely delicious,” the Epic Games Store page reads.

“Welcome to the multiple “Game of The Year” award-winning puzzle game – World of Goo. Drag and drop living globs of goo to build structures, bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins, and giant tongues.”

Both games have low-key specs to run and also only require a small amount of hard drive room.

Transistor is a 3GB download, while World of Goo takes up a mere 100MG of space.

If you’re interested in either game, both can be claimed by creating a free Epic Games Store account.

It costs nothing to set up and both titles can be added to your collection forever, without needing to maintain any kind of subscription.
