What’s is The Mister about?

Publisher Arrow describes it as “a rollercoaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the reader breathless to the very last page”, with “utterly believable” characters.

Instead of being set in America, the novel takes place this side of the pond in London, featuring a posh chap called Maxim Trevelyan who meets a mysterious beautiful woman called Alessia Demachi.

E L James said of her new novel: “It’s a Cinderella story for the twenty-first century.”

There will be “lots” of sex, but she insisted in an interview that “it’s not Fifty Shades erotic because it’s not Fifty Shades. It’s a completely different story.”

The love story of the new book is remarkably similar to that of Prince William and Meghan Markle[/caption]

Is The Mister based on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry?

There has been much speculation that the book is based on the romance between Harry and Meghan.

While 50 Shades had US billionaire hunk Christian Grey, the new book will feature English aristocrat Maxim Trevelyan.

The story features Maxim inheriting his family’s noble title after a tragedy and finding himself in a “role he’s not prepared for and that he struggles to face”.

According to the documentary Meghan Markle: American Princess, former party-loving Prince Harry was also doubtful he even wanted to live as a royal.

In the new book, we are told that Maxim is very taken with the alluring and enigmatic Alessia Demachi.

Alessia isn’t from his world and has recently arrived in England, and we are told that she has a problematic past.

The Duchess of Sussex, who is currently said to not be returning calls from her dad, has experienced her fair share of family drama since joining the royal family.

E.L James has swapped swanky New York apartments for the backdrop of London for her latest book.

Like Prince Harry and Meghan, who are currently residing at Kensington Palace in Chelsea, her new characters also live in the posh district of the city.

Is there an excerpt from The Mister?

The following has been taken from The Mister:

Alessia opens the door but freezes on the threshold of the room.
He’s here.

The Mister!

Fast asleep facedown and sprawled naked across the large bed. She stands, shocked and fascinated at once, her feet rooted to the wooden floor as she stares. He’s stretched across the length of the bed, tangled in his duvet but naked . . . very naked. His face is turned toward her but covered by unkempt brown hair. One arm is beneath the pillow that supports his head, the other extended toward her. He has broad, defined shoulders, and on his biceps is an elaborate tattoo that is partially hidden by the bedding. His back is sun-kissed with a tan that fades as his hips narrow to dimples and to a pale, taut backside.

His long, muscular legs disappear beneath a knot of grey duvet and silver silk bedspread, though his foot sticks out over the edge of the mattress. He stirs, the muscles in his back rippling, and his eyelids flicker open to reveal unfocused but brilliant green eyes. Alessia stops breathing, convinced he’ll be angry that she’s woken him. Their eyes meet, but he shifts and turns his face away. He settles down and goes back to sleep.
