Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris is kicking off at the usual time, with Bungie focused on other big events this week. It won’t be long before Guardians have the full report on what new rewards from tying together a string of wins in the 3vs3 Crucible playlist. The weekly event is returning today, August 14, with Trials of Osiris kicking off at 6pm BST, or 10am PT if you live in the United States. Several other things are happening in the world of Destiny this week, with the return of Xur also scheduled for today.
As always, Guardians will have the chance to grab new loot, which can be traded for Legendary Shards.
Solstice of Heroes is also ongoing, with Eva Levante back in The Tower this week.
Bungie has taken the time following its launch to provide an update to fans who have noticed things running a little differently this year, mostly connected to the Solstice Armor.
“A few of you have already completed the majority of objectives towards your first Magnificent armor set, and are already off to the races on your alternate classes,” the message from Bungie reads.
“Last year, a Legendary Sparrow was available to anyone who fully Masterworked every armor piece for all three classes. We got quite a bit of feedback that this felt a little too grindy for a limited-time event.
“This year, we shifted focus to the individual Solstice of Heroes sets that you’ll be investing time in over the next few weeks. Rather than a single reward after completing the armor on all three characters, we’re providing a free glow when earning the Magnificent armor sets, per class.
“Additionally, we’re seeing some players asking why Magnificent armor isn’t fully Masterworked when earned. This year, our approach was to give players a new path to earn high-stat rolled armor pieces outside of raids.
“As these armor sets have a Max Power Cap of 1,360, they’ll also have a lifespan that lasts through multiple seasons. End result: Players can spend their time finding that perfect roll through Solstice packages for the duration of Solstice of Heroes. Even after the event has concluded, players can Masterwork their armor pieces at their leisure, and finish up some of their final Majestic objectives to unlock their glow.”
Back to today and Bungie won’t be sharing any information on what Trials of Osiris rewards will be available, but they will confirm when the event is open to play.
The first information from the event will be shared by Guardians, who will be confirming the new loot unlocks and the map selection almost straight away.
The Flawless loot might take longer to confirm, but we’ll be sure to update this story as soon as we know more.
Returning players will want to visit Saint-14 just, who will be located in the Tower Hangar.
The Osiris reset offers a new inventory of Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.
A different map and a fresh set of rewards will be available to Guardians today if they meet the requirements of the 960 Power rating needed to buy Passages.
As ever, Trials fans will earn exclusive rewards by defeating other teams of three, while hoping to gain entry to the Lighthouse.
