DAVID Davis’s closest aide has launched an extraordinary assault on Theresa May – branding the PM’s vision of Brexit “Hotel California” where Britain will NEVER Leave.
Departing Brexit Department chief of staff Stewart Jackson also took aim at the PM’s civil service Brexit guru Olly Robbins for delaying the publication of the Brexit blueprint in order to wrestle control of it from Ministers.
Davis Davis’ closest aide Stewart Jackson has blasted Theresa May’s ‘Hotel California’ Brexit vision
The astonishing public outburst came after Downing Street blocked new Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab from keeping the devout Leaver on his staff – to the fury of MPs.
In a further dig he also blasted Theresa May’s chief spin doctor Robbie Gibb for leaking Brexit details in a bid to bounce the Cabinet into signing up to her “third way” fudge.
Mr Jackson was backed by Tory MP Nigel Evans who said Mr Robbins appears to have “taken control of the entire negotiation” and “rammed us further away from the Brexit” people voted for.
He said: “There’s an assumption that there’s now been a capitulation and a sellout by the Cabinet to the European Union.”
